xType saves hours of typing. It is the ideal solution for personnel in office, technical support, customer care, help desk, call center and medical or legal transcription settings. xType organizes your frequently used text snippets in customizable groups for quick access and saves keystrokes by expanding text abbreviations into full text snippets. xType is ideal for anyone who types the same text repeatedly, improving typing speed and productivity by providing easy access to regularly used text.
For example, you could set a keyboard shortcut so whenever you type "DCT" it automatically expands to "Dear Customer, Thank you for contacting us". Adding a new shortcut in xType is simple. Just enter both the abbreviation and the text that you wish the shortcut to expand to.
Love option to have shortcuts be Case-Sensitive. Just need an option to hide the Icon from the Dock, and have it as a Menu-Bar Utility.

This is one of my first Mac App store download. It is an ok, it works as advertised for the most part. The biggest letdown is that the the trigger is limited to letters and numbers. This is a let down because it would be more useful to use punctuations that are rarely used to trigger the text expansion. This app is not nearly as extensive as competitors, but the price is a lot better. I like the integration with the rich text and pictures, and I use it quite often. Overall it is ok, a fair step over the text substitution in Snow Leopard.

Je viens de télécharger xType 1.1 et je fais quelques tests. En testant la v1.0, je vous avais signalé 1 bug concernant les polices. J'avais soumis l'idée d'insérer du texte brut. Je vois que ma démarche n'a pas été vaine et que l'équipe d'adnX a pris en compte mes remarques. C'est sympa et je vous remercie donc par ce message pour votre écoute et la qualité du produit qui s'est bien amélioré. Bravo.
